Honeys အထည်ချုပ်စက်ရုံဟာ ဇေကမ္ဘာ၀န်းအတွင်း၌ Honey1 Honey2 စက်ရုံနှစ်ရုံရှိရာမှာ ၂၀၁၆ခုနှစ်မှာ အလုပ်သမားသမဂ္ဂဖွဲ့စည်းခဲ့ခြင်းကြေင့် အကြောင်းရှာပြီး Honey၁ က အလုပ်သမား၄၀၀ကျော်ကိုထုတ်ပြီး Honey ၂က အလုပ်သမား ၂၈ဦးကိုထုတ်ခဲ့တယ်လို့သိရပါတယ်။ ဒီလိုထုတ်ပယ်လိုက်သော်လည်း ခုံသမာဓိကောင်စီမှာ လျော်ကြေးပေးတာမရှိသလို လုပ်ငန်းခွင်ထဲပြန်၀င်လုပ်ကိုင်ရတာမျိုးလည်း မရှိခဲ့ဘူးလို့သိရပါတယ်။

“အလုပ်ထုတ်လိုက်တဲ့နောက်မှာ အလုပ်သမားဆန္ဒပြပွဲကို အန်တီမျိုးကို ဦးဆောင်လို့ ၆၆ဃ နဲ့ဆွဲတယ်။ တရားမနဲ့ဆွဲတယ်။ တရားမက မြန်မာငွေကျပ်သိန်း ပေါင်းနှစ်သောင်းနီးပါးကို သူတို့ကတောင်းတယ်။ အဲ့တော့ အန်တီထောင်ကျနေချိန်မှာ ၆၆ဃ ကတော့ ရပ်သွားတယ်။ နောက်တော့ မအလကကြေညာတယ် အမှုတွေဘာညာမလုပ်ဘူး။ အဲ့တော့ တရားမတော့ကျန်ခဲ့တယ်။ တရားမက ခုထိရင်ဆိုင်နေရဆဲပဲ။ ဖွင့်လာရင်လည်း အန်တီတို့လုပ်နိုင်သလောက်တော့ တားရမှာပဲ”လို့ အဆိုပါ စက်ရုံအလုပ်သမားအရေး လှုပ်ရှားဆောင်ရွက်ပေးနေသူက ဆိုပါတယ်။
အဆိုပါစက်ရုံအနေဖြင့် ၎င်းတို့ရဲ့Brandကို တစ်ခြားနိုင်ငံကိုမတင်ပို့ဘဲ ဂျပန်နိုင်ငံက Honey စတိုးဆိုင်ကိုပဲရောင်းတာကြောင့် ဂျပန်က စားသုံးသူတွေဆီရောက်ဖို့နဲ့ စားသုံးသူတွေဆီ တိုက်ရိုက်ပြောပေးနိုင်မဲ့သမဂ္ဂတွေရှိပါက ချိတ်ဆက်ဆောင်ရွက်သွားဖို့ရှိတယ်လို့လည်း သိရပါတယ်။

Honeys garment factory, which has fired more than 400 workers illegally, will be opposed if it opens a new factory.

As Honeys garment factory, which is located inside Zay Gabar compound in Mingalardon, has not yet resolved its violation of the labour rights, labour activists said they will oppose it if the factory opens a new one.
"Norwegian Pension Fund had their shares in the factory in 2021. So we complained about that and the Worker Rights Consortium (WRC) investigated. WRC released the announcement of the result in December, 2021. It demanded them to resolve the damages of more than 400 workers. But the factory still has not resolved it yet. Because of that, Norwegian Pension Fund took out their shares from the factory. To that extent, this factory has violated human rights and labour rights. In the WRC report, it is also written in detail about how they exploit the wages of the workers and how they cut Overtime(OT). Knowing all about that, Myanmar government accepted 11 million US dollars from them. So, we forbid this. The new factory must not be opened," said a labour activist.
Honeys garment factory has two factories, named Honey 1 and Honey 2, inside Zay Gabar compound. In 2016, they fired more than 400 workers from Honey 1 and 28 from Honey 2 just because workers organized the labour union in these factories. Even though they were dismissed like that, workers did not receive proper compensation in the settlement at the arbitration council, nor did they have to return to work.
It is reported that the opening of the third factory in Myanmar is opposed since the grievances of more than 400 workers have not yet been resolved.
It is also known that the families of more than four hundred workers who were laid off are still fighting together with various international organizations to claim for their damages.
WRC, Clean Clothes Campaign(CCC) and Solidarity Trade Union Myanmar (STUM) requested Japanese Human Rights to resolve this case. It is reported that the factory is still denying it. They said they did not do that.
"After being fired, I was prosecuted with 66(d) for leading the labor protest. I was also prosecuted with a civil lawsuit. They demanded almost 2,000 millions MMK from me in that case. So when I was imprisoned, they dropped the case of 66(d). Then Min Aung Hlaing announced that they won't file any criminal lawsuit against us. But the civil lawsuit remains there and I'm still facing the case. However, if the new factory opens, we will have to do what we can to stop that from happening," said the factory labour activist.
The factory does not export its brand to other countries, but only sells it to Honey stores in Japan. It is also said that if there are unions that can speak directly to the consumers in Japan, they are going to join hands with them.
It is reported that this factory has already opened Honeys 1 and 2, and is now investing 11 millions US dollars to open Honeys 3 with 1,500 workers.
