According to the labours, the Ford Glory factory which is located in School Street, Shwe Pyi Thar is intimidating the labours and calling for unfair overtime.

It is also known that because of labours working overtime every day without a day off, their health is affected and they are cut off without permission for a leave, and if they can’t work overtime, the factory holds grudges and find fault and are fired.

The working hours are only until half past four. Even today, we can't go back home. We have to work not only all night but also all day. If we said we can’t work overtime, they would fire us. Also, it is not just one day but every day. We humans are not robots. There is even no time to sleep. We reported to many individuals but they stop calling only that day and they would call back later," said a labour.

Currently, they are preparing to call for two shifts in the morning and night, and it is convenient for the day workers by ferry support, but it is not convenient for the night shift workers as they don’t have.

I heard that they will arrange morning week and night week for a week. Those who work in the morning have a ferry and those who work at night don’t and they have to go by bus. We don’t like that. And overtime hours are always different from our timestamps and theirs. They never resolve that even if we point out.  We get back home at 4 Am if we work all day and all night and have to go back to work at 8. Getting back home at 00:00 Am if only all night. We work all day and all night for today. We don’t even get an off day in a weekend. We want it,” said the labour.

“We are not allowed for a leave if our health breaks down because of consecutive overtime Workers who do not work overtime are fired. Not without cause but with various reasons. There is no WCC in the factory. I reported this to the manager and super, but nothing happened. Even reporting the labour prevent only that day,” said a labour.

It is reported that the factory is a Chinese-owned factory, and with 500 labours, it sews over-bought warm clothes and exports them to China. In addition, the factory often changes its name and operates according to the worker. In this factory, it is reported that SINSAY and other stamps are being sewn.
