According to statements released by the Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar (STUM), a total of 21 labour dispute cases that occurred at factories and workplaces in 2025 were reported to the Ministry of Labour but have not been resolved.
These disputes took place at factories including Bontech, GYSen, Waninda, Rainbow Tex, Xusen Garment, Dong Sheng Xing, GTIG-2, True Green, Max Technology, Kingsright, MGOU Myanmar, and JIMMY Garment. The cases involved manufacturing and electronics factories, with the majority being garment factories.
Most of the complaints remain at preliminary stages, such as being submitted to the Union level ministry, being forwarded to higher authorities, or still in the process of formal submission, according to available information.
The disputes occurred between May and December 2025, meaning that the length of time since complaints were filed ranges from a maximum of seven months to a minimum of just over one month.
STUM stated that, no effective resolutions have been achieved and the cases continue to face prolonged delays although these cases have been submitted step by step to regional-level offices of the Department of Labour, the Factories and General Labour Laws Inspection Department, the Social Security Board, and regional courts.
Due to the failure of relevant departments to resolve these grievances in a timely manner, workers are experiencing significant difficulties, STUM wrote in its report.
