#Workers’ Letter

The factory is located in East Dagon Township, East Dagon Industrial Zone, on Phan Chat Wun U Shwe Oe Road.

At Yangon Oscar Factory, the employer does not provide the Employment Contract Agreement (EC) between the employer and workers.

Workers are losing their rights because the EC contract is not provided. At present, the HR manager has said that workers with more than six months of service will be reduced. For this reason, the HR manager is collecting money from workers.

The HR manager also dismisses workers without any reason. I believe that if an employer wants to dismiss a worker, it should be done only with valid reasons and proper records.

Now, we are suffering losses. Without an Employment Contract Agreement between employer and worker, workers’ social and working lives have become uncertain and unstable.

We are also not given the right to choose members of the Workplace Coordination Committee (WCC). The employer unilaterally selects and forms the WCC, so workers do not have the opportunity to report or raise issues when they are being harmed.

More than 1,000 workers are employed at Yangon Oscar Factory.

The factory manufactures brands such as LCW and P@VV and is owned by Chinese nationals.
