Workers from Erdos Myanmar Knitwear woolen factory which locates at Yaw A Twin Wun U Phoe Hlaing Street, Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone, Haling Thar Yar Township said that their rights are being violated and Chinese national is directly managing them.

The factory manufactures JUSTE CACHEMIRE, LOCHMERE and ZENOBI brands. There is no trade union in the factory but only a workplace coordination committee which can’t really address the workers problems.

“The male experts physically assault the female when they talk. A super points to the chest. The factory calls evening and night overtime shifts without providing food for night overtimes. The Chinese national is directly managing the factory. The HR is appointed only as a puppet. The previous employer care for the workers. But the current one only decide with their meeting. And the Chinese point things with their feet and verbally abuse us too,” said a worker.

The workers neither get access to legal casual and seniority leaves they aren’t dare to speak out as they are afraid to lose their jobs and they report for now as they can’t withstand the violations anymore. They also reported to the meditation Board of the  Township labor office.

The labor right violations occur after the employer of the factory changed.

“I assigned tasks to the cavities after the all super and production manager. But after the change of the employer workers aren’t informed in advanced but have to sign as a representative when the paper came out. All supers and supers were not given their title in the EC contract but with the OP title. We neither don’t know out positions as the EC contract shows that the title is Operator and others,” said a worker.

The factory also hires underage workers in the factory without legal processes and workers are discriminated and treated differently according to their desires. Workers said that they are facing many difficulties and pressures which even made them want to resign on their own consent.
