I am working at Xin Rui Garment Factory.
What I mainly want to express is that workers are not receiving the legal rights they are entitled to, and that the working conditions in the factory are severely deteriorating.
Our factory is located on Saya Shan Road in Shwe Lin Ban Industrial Zone, Hlaing Thar Yar Township.

We are made to work before the designated working hours. Meetings are also conducted during break times outside of regular working hours. Overtime hours (OT) are imposed continuously without allowing workers proper rest.

The factory shows no accountability or responsibility although excessive overtime is demanded. Only poor quality snacks are provided during OT hours.

It is very difficult for us to get approved gate passes in case of emergencies. Most importantly, those who demand their legal rights are subjected to discrimination in the workplace. Workers who demand their rights are not even called to work overtime.

Additionally, the factory does not provide when service pay and other entitlements although we requested.

There are no medicines available in the factory clinic. Workers are also forced to drink unclean water. Moreover, supervisors intentionally speak in ways that degrade workers’ dignity, and verbal abuse and threats are common.

The subsidy of 2,000 MMK is also not fully paid to us at the factory. Only 1,000 MMK is provided.

We have reported these conditions to the labor office. However, no actions have been taken to address the issues yet. It is also said that the factory has bribed officials to delay their intervention.

I urge the relevant authorities to come and resolve these issues as quickly as possible.
