Workers from Japanese national owned Hope One Co.,Ltd garment factory which located at No(182-9/10), Maung Kyan Thee Street, Alal village, Hlaing Thar Yar Township said that a superior in the factory is discriminating against the subordinates.

The mentioned superior is found out to be Ma Thandar Moe who is working as an all super in charge of line 10,11,12,13,15 and 16. Actually there are three all supers in the factory including one male all super and two female counterparts.

“She is the worst all super among them, the others coordinate if there is anything not convenient,” said the worker.

“Ma Thandar Moe, force the workers to work overtime without their consents, unlike other all supers. She manipulates the factory even if the factory itself doesn’t want to call overtime. She is always intimidating the workers saying that to be nice to her if we can’t void and to void her if we can’t treat her nice. She verbally abuse and swear us too. She is the only one who is suppressing the workers,” said a worker.

The all super is also reported for not instructing the workers properly regarding new fabric points they don’t know clearly. And that’s indeed making workers more difficult. Although the factory issue the salary at 12:00 pm on the pay day, she force the workers to work overtime without surveying on May 4th

The other all supers care about the workers desires to work overtime but she never did and she also force the workers to work overtime for free if they can’t finish the fabric outputs. Workers are scolded by her during the overtime for not finishing the fabric outputs in the working hours.

“There are several people who resigned and dismissed because of her and more people are still waiting to resign,” the worker explained.

The workers said that these kinds of actions also makes the factory’s reputation to decline. They are hoping that the factory’s officials and authorities inspect and inquire the workers’ situations on the ground.
