Please assist us, the employees from LC International Hotel a little.

Our hotel gives 7 days off for the Thingyan holiday. However, we are asked to work an extra day to compensate on the day we return to work.

They also forcefully say that they can solve as long as they pay money if us want to report somewhere.

Some employees have already filed complaints to the labour office. However, those complaints become ineffective when the hotel pays money.

We are made to work even on public holidays that are gazetted holidays. Despite having to work on such days, the hotel does not pay double wages as required by Myanmar labour law.

The hotel is located on Kyan Sit Thar Road, in East Hlaing Thar Yar Township, Yangon. There is the Aung Myay Thar Yar Pagoda in front of the hotel.

The worst part is that they do not provide Casual leave. Medical leave is also not given at all. There are also employees who are not covered by Social Security Board (SSB). The hotel does not say anything about those who are not covered.

There are also employees who contribute monthly to SSB. But those who contribute are only some of the older employees.

There are about 200 hotel staff. The hotel was opened in 2023.

It is so bad that they only give 1 day of Annual leave for the entire year.

The hotel says it governs the employees under Singapore labour law.

The salary calculation is from the 1st to the 30th of each month. Salaries are given on the 15th day of each month.

We have never heard of or experienced being asked to work make up in exchange for leave throughout our hotel careers.

We want help because working in this hotel feels like working in a factory.
