The security worker who worked at GTIG Guohua Glory Garment factory which located at Wun Saung Mhu Street, War Ta Yar Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township filed a report and the case is being addressed.

“He contracted via the brand yesterday. The factory tends to give the worker’s 4 points of requests but not yet signed. The trade union, employer and the brand are negotiating but not reached to an exact solution. Because re-hire is ok but the overtime which have to be calculated by the backdate are still being negotiated,” said a person who is helping the worker.

The security worker started working at the factory since 9th May, 2022 and had more than 2 years of service working with 3 day shifts and 3 night shifts from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm as day shift and from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am as night shift and was dismissed without any mistake committed on the grounds that a new employer will be replaced.

The worker said he didn’t receive 4 hours of overtime while he worked there and hired as a day employer until 2 years without an EC contract therefore contacted Solidarity of Trade Unions, Myanmar - STUM with four points: 1. Illegal dismiss, 2. Not getting paid for 4 hours of overtime per day, 3. Hired as a day employer until 2 years and 4. The factory failed to make EC contract.

The employer, employee and brand are negotiating for those 4 requests.
