Rongda Garment Factory Workers Make Demands

Workers at Rongda garment factory, located in Watharyar Industrial Zone, Shwepyithar Township, Yangon, are reportedly demanding wage increases.

They are calling for a raise of the daily wages to 13,000 kyats and overtime pay to 2,500 kyats per hour, according to workers.

The factory paid daily wages at 8,800 kyats and the overtime rate at only 2,000 kyats per hour before the demands were made, workers said.
