We are workers from Max Technology Factory.
Ferry transportation is poorly managed at our factory. The manager’s father and brother are in charge of the transportation arrangements.
The issue is that the factory ferry does not run on a regular or fixed schedule. It arrives whenever it wants, early or late, without any advance notice. If it arrives early, it doesn’t wait for the workers.
The driving is rough and unsafe. Sudden braking and abrupt acceleration are common. Drivers often move the vehicle before workers are fully on board or properly seated.
Many workers have fallen inside the vehicle, suffering injuries like bruises and scrapes to their hands and legs. We’ve reported it to the line leaders and managers, but nothing has improved but it’s only getting worse.
Some workers have even fallen out of the vehicle, hitting their heads or suffering abrasions. Among all the factory ferry vehicles, it’s only the ones driven by the manager’s father and brother that have these issues.
On the last payday, August 5th, salaries were given out at 4:40 PM, but the ferry didn’t arrive until after 5 PM. Some workers, unable to wait, had to hire their own transportation to get home. Sometimes, two vanloads of workers are crammed into one van. When the vehicle is too packed, and workers are pushed to the edge near the door, the manager’s father shouts and scolds them harshly.
The return ferry is often late even in the evening. Although the factory has a WCC (Workplace Coordination Committee), they don’t take any action. The WCC was set up by the factory itself and is led by a supervisor.
The factory is located on near 74 bus stop , Tabinshwehti Road, near Watayar Industrial Zone, Shwepyitha Township.
As female workers, this situation is very difficult for us. Thank you for your attention.
