I would like to report the fact that Newwell garment factory from Pyi Taw Thar Street, Mawbe Industrial Zone, Mawbe Township, Yangon region pressurizing the workers to resign. The Newwell factory is manufacturing the New way brand which is the main order.

The factory opened just 7 months ago and owned by a Chinese national. The HR manager is pressurizing the workers to resign. The supervisors and leaders are blamed that they had poor management skills although the workers resigned due to their own difficulties.

There are 26 workers in the QC department including the Chinese national lady. The employer told that 3 leaders managing a department is a loss for them so that the HR manager pressurize the QC super to resign from the work. And only the QC super was blamed for quality failed apparels although there are 3 leaders in the department.

A worker who submitted a resignation form in last month was told that their wages will not be paid if they don’t work a week more. The worker can’t work and had to fingerprint on a paper which is written in handwriting and the wages are not paid.

The factory does not sign employment contract with the workers and violating the workers without educating the rules and actions. We will report these violations to the relevant departments. Please help us.

Workers are seeking resolvent upon these violations.
