I am a worker from New Plus Garment factory which located at Nwar Chan Bus Stop, Kyauk Sein Street, Thar Du Kan Industrial Zone and it is owned by a Chinese national. The factory hires around 1,000 workers.

I want to ask for help. The factory calls overtime every Sunday. Some workers want to rest on Sunday but it will make them falls behind those who work. Actually, this is also planned by the factory.

They told that only the workers who work on Sunday will be provided rice and palm oil. Those who don’t work overtime will not be provided. I feel like they are mean. If they would like to provide, I think they should provide every worker in the factory.

They are just making us to work overtime. We are working overtime on Sundays since May. We don’t get rest days.

The whole factory is called overtime until 6:30 on Saturday and those who go back at 4:30 are not provided transportation.

They call overtime until 8:00 pm instead of 7:00 pm which should be since last week and they say it will be long term.

We are working until 8:00 pm since after the lunch without a break. Half an hour of lunch time is bought with overtime wages. They said it is a mutual consent.

The factory doesn’t provide food and the workers don’t go out to eat snack to avoid failing the fabric output deadlines. They asked us fabric outputs. The workers have to work very hard to void the verbal abuses of the supervisors and Chinese nationals.

Those who go back at 4:30 pm on Saturdays are not provided transportation. They provide only at 6:30 pm.

Seamstresses are more sorrowful. They can’t even stand. There is workplace coordination committee in the factory.

I would like to request for inspect certainly.
