According to the Information provided by Myanmar workers' Social Welfare Center (Korea), there has been monthly disputes between migrant workers and their employers relating to the wage issues.

Most of the complaints related to wages issues come from the migrant workers who are working in manufacturing, agriculture, fisheries and construction industries.

According to Mr Soe Moe Thu, the president of Myanmar workers' Social Welfare Center, most of the complaints are related to the wages issues as the most of the businesses do not give full amount of over-time fees and monthly wages. He added to solve these disputes, it takes around 3months to 1 year and the center successfully helped 98 workers to receive their full wages. According to the Korean Law of Migrant Workers, after completion of one year in job, the workers cam enjoy extra one month salary as bonus and if a migrant worker have decided to return to his country after three years of working in Korea, he can gain 3 months of his salary as bonus. Furthermore, if the workers present at 80 percent of the work days, he can enjoy the long holidays or extra bonus at the end of the year.

In the recent years, according to the report of Korea Human Rights Commission, the workers lost 80 million USD as they are not being fully paid by their employers.

Most of the people in Myanmar who are trying to emigrate Korea do not have the much knowledge about legal knowledge and labor rights protection may become the roots of wages exploitation.

If the Myanmar migrant workers in Korea suffer the labor rights violations the workers can connect to the Myanmar workers' Social Welfare Center(Korea) for the further assistance.
