I, Ma Shwe Yi Win, holder of National Registration Number 12/KAMANA(N)114881 and a resident of Watkite Village, Kungyangon Township, Ayeyarwady Region, arranged to go and work in Oman for three month period through Daw Thandar’s agency located in Watkite Village. On March 18, 2025, I left Yangon and arrived Oman on March 21, at 1 AM.
On March 23, 2025, I started working at my employer’s home. I failed the medical screening when I underwent the blood test required for employment and residence in Oman. My employer returned me to the Oman agent’s office on April 27, 2025.
The agent said they would conduct a new medical test when I got to their office in Oman, but no test was performed. After 21 days, I contacted the Myanmar agent, who told me they would follow up.
That evening, a female interpreter from Oman told me that the medical results were fine and that I could proceed with job interviews. However, I was never properly re-tested, and although they said I could now go for interviews, I am not in good health and am currently unable to work. As a result, I am still staying at the Oman agent’s office, unemployed.
I have to rely on the food they provide, which I cannot eat. I suffer from heart problems, have yellowish skin, and pass blood when urinating. Due to these health conditions, I cannot eat what they provide, and I have had to use my remaining money to buy food for myself. I am stuck here not working and in poor health as the Oman agent has not provided me with proper medical care. Nothing was changed when I contacted the Myanmar agent. I wish to return to Myanmar as my health worsens. The Oman agent said I would have to pay 10,000,000 MMK before I could go home. But I cannot afford to pay that amount since I am not working.
