Military practiced penalty exercises to tricycle drivers who don’t wear helmets

Tricycle drivers from Shwe Pyi Thar Township said that the military is practicing penalty exercises on  tricycle drivers who don’t wear helmets.

Tricycle drivers are casually checked at crowded places including Thone Htate intersection, Htan Chauk Pin intersection, Than Din Zay intersection.

“My friend was forced to do frog leap in public for not wearing helmet. It is not good to see that. They should educate first and helmet prices are not cheap. It is not convenient that they are doing what they want during the crisis,” said a tricycle driver.

The tricycle taxi drivers increased in quantity and number of passengers fell vice versa.

“We don’t dare to go far trips. There are about 2 cases of my acquittances being robbed their vehicles. tricycle taxis increased and number of passengers fell. We are really struggling as the maintenance cost and expenses are rosing. And they are intervening us,” said a tricycle taxi driver.

The Junta is setting up policies in townships and charging the tricycle taxi drivers frequently.
