There are more than 200 male workers in the factory which manufactures sinsay and OUTDOOR brand apparels.

“Around 25 soldiers entered the factory and enumerate male workers list. According to my knowledges it is for conscription. The employer gave the list and they told that they will come back on September 13. We are worried. We are not sure weather we should continue to work or rest,” said a male worker.

Most workers fled the workplace after the military conscription rule was implementd but the enumeration began when the workplaces return to normal.

“We are really worried. According to the news even night our and going to some restaurants is dangerous. I heard that we will be dragged. We don’t know what to do in this situation. Our families would call us back if they heard the news. I am thinking that I should decide something according to the potential situation,” a garment worker stated.

The military council has been restricting young people between the ages of 18 and 35 in various ways since the implementation of the military service law in the country. In most of the factories, young people over the age of 20 are hired.
