I am writing on behalf of workers from the New Plus factory.
We have been required to work overtime until 8:00 p.m for more than two months now. In addition, we have been working overtime on Sundays without any weekly rest day for over one month.
We asked the factory to give us substitute days off for the holidays, but the factory refused to close. The All Supervisor from Line 7 said that because they did not want to close, the factory would not close. As a result, we workers went to request leave directly from the manager’s office, but our request was still rejected.
Since asking for official holidays did not work, we then requested to take leave by using our own leave days. We asked for consecutive days off on January 1, 2, 3, and 4.
Weekly bonuses are now being paid late. Previously, we signed on Mondays and received the bonus on Tuesdays. Now, we only receive it on Thursdays, and sometimes not until Friday.
Monthly bonuses were previously paid around the 15th or 16th of the month. Now, they are paid around the 20th. This has caused serious hardship for workers.
We have always followed the factory’s instructions and worked overtime whenever they asked. We did not complain. Now, we are only asking for a few substitute rest days in return.
There is no effective response or solution even when we submit suggestions through the suggestion box at the factory.
We sincerely ask for help.
