Daw Myo Myo Aye, a key figure from the Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar (STUM) who has long been involved in assisting with domestic labour-related issues inside the country, has been reportedly detained by SAC.

According to reports, approximately ten individuals in plainclothes accompanied by a ward administrator arrived at her residence on Nawarat Road, Shwepyithar Township on the night of July 25 around 9:30 PM, and conducted a search before taking her into custody.

Family members say they are still unaware of Daw Myo Myo Aye’s exact location and are concerned about her wellbeing due to her need for regular medical care.

“We still don’t know where or why our mother was taken since July 25. It’s has been three days. She has a medical condition that requires regular medication. We’re trying everything we can to find out about her situation,” her daughter wrote on social media.

It is also known that STUM’s director Daw Myo Myo Aye was also previously detained in April 2021 under Section 505(a) and sentenced to six months and six days in prison.
