Please help. Our factory is calling excessive overtime. We are workers from KSHENG Myanmar garment factory. They force and pressurize us to work overtime everyday until 8:00 p.m. since after the lunch.

We only have a 30 minutes break time for lunch in all day. We have to work until 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and until 4:00 p.m. on Sundays. It has been more than 3 months they are forcing us like this. We have to work until dawn yesterday (July 17th).

Workers are tired due to excessive overtime and having illness due to lack of break time. We don’t have energy but the line leaders verbally abuse us by saying that (Don’t come to work if you don’t want to work overtime) if we complain about overtime. They humiliate us in public. They don’t even allow us to go back although we are really sick.

The WCC member is a line leader so they cares more about the fabric outputs than the workers’ issues. They even force the sick people to get the fabric outputs.

We filed about the overtime to Shwe Pyi Thar Labor Office 4 times and Yangon Division Labor Office 1 time by telephone but there is no assistant or resolvent. We are seeking for help because we are being helpless.

KSHENG Myanmar garment factory cut wages for 11 days of our salaries for not working 2 substitute days in April. Actually, the factory themselves closed for the substitute days. Its not like the workers absented.  The factory force us to work on Sundays even before those months.

We are asking for help as we, the workers are suffering a lot.

(According to information related to the KSENG (Myanmar) Apparel that Myanmar Labour News received, the factory is located at Thar Du Kan Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangon and owned by a Chinese national. The factory is manufacturing Mataland , Clique , springfield , FB sister and GEM brands apparels with around 900 workforce).
