Job seekers in Yangon said that the resume and CV form cost and expenses are rosing due to increase of photocopies costs, photo shotting costs, form costs and travel expenses.

“It cost 200 kyats for a copy of a document. 300 kyats for household registration. The CV form cost 500 kyats. 6 photo costs 2,000 kyats. Seems like we need tens of thousand kyats considering the certificates and travel expenses,” said a job seeker.

A labour activist commented that employer and recruiters should consider these expenses applicants have to pay while they are not sure whether they got employed or not.

CV form, photo, NRC, household registration, education certificates, ward and police certificates and labour cards are required to apply jobs starting from sales to high skilled jobs.

“It would be more convenient to give only the CV form before and submit the documents only when got hired. For now, it is stressful to apply for one or two jobs,” said a resident.

It is learnt that certificates cost much more than before and the recruiters are also asking for originals.
