Jafon bag factory not giving statutory holidays, use slanders in the workplace and requesting records for absenteeism

According to the workers they are not allowed to enjoy the holidays prescribed by the law at the Jafon factory owned by the Chinese national and Chinese stuffs together with the supers and all leaders use slanders in the work place too. Furthermore, they are also asked for the full fabric standards of the absent workers.

This factory is located in Naga Wun Street, Plot No. 3, Bago Industrial Zone and manufacturing handbag brands such as IPSY and GLAM BAG with more than 200 workforces.

"Casual, medical and social security leaves; nothing is allowed to take. We will be cut off if we take leave. In addition, if two workers take leave in a signal cavity, the rest of them have fill their fabric standards too. Also, the factory closes on two Saturdays in September with their own decision. And later told us to work two days substitute for those two days. We were neither informed nor negotiated back then. When we asked for that, we were told those days were closed because of no tasks and right now is a yes, so we must. And also, the Chinese, supers and leaders usually swear in the workplace,” said a factory worker.

At this factory, overtime is called every day, the workers were forced to work even during the flood in Bagu City. The Ministry of Labor came to inspect violations in the workplace last year, but there has been no change.

"More than a year ago, the Ministry of Labor came to check. But nothing changed and it remained the same as before. Last summer, there were girls who fainted inside the factory. We got medicine at the clinic sometimes and have to go to the office sometimes," he said.

The workers from the Jafon factory wants to be reduced the fabric standards if there is someone absent, to take action in accordance with the employment agreement for swearing in the workplace, to be allowed for legal leaves, recalculation of substitute days for Saturday and Sunday, (2) days of the first and second week of September with full wages and not to ask for substitute for the days they close because of no tasks without negotiation.
