According to the industrialists, all the factories in the industrial zones in Myanmar will only get 2 hours of electricity a day. Previously, they got 4 hours of electricity a day, but they were informed through the relevant township electricity office that they only pay two hours a day starting at May 19th.

"They didn't send a letter and. The electricity office told me over the phone Since we are a glass factory, cutting is convenient only if there is electricity. The cost of using generator is will high So, we have to do most of the works when there is electricity. The rental costs are not avoidable, not only me but all employers are facing the difficulties,” said a employer from Hlaing Thar Yar Industrial Zone 3.

An official from the township's electricity office told a local news outlet that due to the lack of electricity at present, only 2 hours of electricity are being supplied to industrial zones to pump up water.

"If the employers spend more money and have less profits and losses, the wages for the workers will be lower. I read an entrepreneur's post saying that the time the electricity present is before the factory’s working hours," said the labor activist.

The weather temperature has increased, but people are suffering from the effects of the heat because of the short time they have access to electricity.
