Mingalabar.

We are workers from Hope One factory. We would like to share that we have been facing difficulties with the ferry transportation provided by the factory, and our attempts to report this to the management have not brought any solution.

It’s been more than a week now that the ferry issue has been going on. We already informed the WCC, but they haven’t said anything to the factory on our behalf.

There are supposed to be three ferry buses taking us to the Htantapin area. But now, the ferry that normally picks us up at our gate no longer comes. Out of the remaining two buses, only one picks us up, and they are combining groups of workers into that one bus.

That means instead of the usual three ferries for the same route, we’re left with just two, and everyone is being forced to squeeze in. It’s very crowded. Some of the male workers even have to hang on from the outside of the vehicle.

We’ve told the manager about it. They said they would call and take care of it, but nothing has changed. Only the same two buses are still coming.

It will cause loss not only to the workers but also to the employer if something unfortunate happens. Over 20 of us are affected directly by this ferry issue, and there are more than 800 workers at the factory in total.

Hope One is a Japanese-owned factory with its own brand, and it is located on Maung Kyan Thi Road, Alae Village, Hlaing Tharyar Township, Yangon.

We would like to kindly request this page to reflect the responsibilities and duties of the WCC, and how they should be accountable in situations like this.

Thank you very much.
