Entrepreneurs objected to the Thai government's decision to raise wages by 400 baht per day

 The Thai government has decided to increase the minimum wage by 400 baht for workers working in Thailand from October and it is reported that there are objections from businessmen.

"Actually, not objecting but political parties instructing to pay 400 baht the same for whole country. The businessmen say that they should set the rate according to the area and business sector, not the same across the country," said a person who is helping Burmese workers in Thailand.

To increase the minimum wage of workers in Thailand, many business industries such as logistics, seafood and export industry by district are studied for 2 months and the wage raise determination committees decided to raise the daily wage up to 400 baht per state was considered and it was announced and signed by Mr. Pairot Chotikasathien on April 17 that the workers in Thailand need to be paid a minimum wage of 400 baht.

"There is a pre-meeting before the due date, and the proposal will be made only after the meeting is published and approved. As for now, the raise to 400 baht cannot be confirmed yet," said a Burmese worker in Thailand.

It is reported that businessmen in Thailand have objected to the nationwide increase of 400 baht, and they have also signed a letter of objection to the Thai Labor Minister.

The current basic wage is paid between 328 - 354 baht depending on the district. According to the current exchange rate, 1 Thai baht is around 107 Kyats.

Commodity and gas prices in Thailand is increasing day by day due to this news and the entrepreneurs are facing difficulties and they have sent a letter of objection to the Minister of Labor for re-examination of the government's decision to increase the wages of workers.
