Labour activist Daw Myo Myo Aye and 10 others, who have already been charged under Sections 5(1)(f)(g) of the 1961 Prison and Probation Act, now face additional charges under Sections 40 and 41 of the Registration of Associations Law. Following these new charges, a court hearing has been scheduled for September 29 to examine the plaintiff, according to a statement released by STUM.

On September 22, the Shwepyitha Township Court continued examining witnesses in the original case under the Prison and Probation Act. The court set the next hearing date to examine the plaintiff fter the Criminal Management Procedure (CMP) was completed for the additional charges related to association registration.

It is reported that the Shwepyitha Township Court has set September 29 as the hearing date for both the original and additional cases.

Daw Myo Myo Aye, the leader of STUM, was arrested at around 9:30 PM on July 25 from her home in Shwepyitha Township. She was charged under Sections 5(1)(f)(g) of the 1961 Prison and Probation Act and is currently undergoing trial after being transferred and interrogated at Aungthapyay Interrogation Center in Yangon.

Additionally, U Thiha Naing, a manager from WANXINDA TRAVEL GOODS Co., Ltd, has filed a complaint regarding the new charges under Sections 40 and 41 of the Registration of Associations Law. This supplementary case was submitted to the Shwepyitha Township Court on September 15.
