Workers from Bontech Manufacturing Company Limited garment factory said that they are being forced to work excessive mid-night and all-night overtimes without their consent.

“We are called for 20 all-night overtimes 20 times a month and we had to work until 9:30 p.m. in the remaining days. This is how workers from production lines work and workers from other departments, are had stay until around 8 or 7:30 p.m.,” explained a worker.

Workers who are unable to work overtime are lowered the grade level, cut their production bonuses and faced discriminations within the workplace.

Workers complained to the Labour office about the excessive overtime and all night overtimes in last month, However, there has been no change although they inspected the factory and the factory continued to call all night overtimes (until 12:00 am) until October 31.
