We are stuffs from Alpha Ecc oil and gas offshore service company which locates at Dagon Seikan Industrial Zone.
We get paid by USD but they are doing it unfairly.The company takes the rate of central bank which is 2,100 kyats for 1 USD. This way, the officials are exploiting the workers. People might have known that the central bank announced to buy and sell USD with 1 USD for around 3,400 kyats in private banks.
The stuffs told the company to give according to that rate but they refuse by several reasons. The company charge the clients with USD. They sell with 3,400 kyats rate but give the salary with 2,100 kyats rate. The stuffs know this but can’t help as they said “take it or leave”.Our company is a worker hiring agency company. Salary is paid via the UAB Bank. At UAB Bank, we can see the opening price of 3,376 kyats per dollar. But the employees are cleared with the Central Bank price of 2,100. You will see that the price is quite different.
They exchanged the service fee USDs received from the client from the company bank acc to VVIP bank on the top floor of Myanmar plaza for around 3,400 kyats rates. But the salary is calculated at the price of 2,100 kyats per USD rate at UAB Bank. Employees suffer around 1300 kyats per dollar and being cheated by the company’s officials.
Although we get paid with USD, our salary is only 150 USD per month. The senior workers get paid around 300 USD and the supers get paid 400 USD. You will see that it is nothing when you exchange the salaries with the company’s reference rate.
