An agreement was reached three days after a wage increase demand was made at Bontech Manufacturing Garment, located on Padamyar Road in Thadukan Industrial Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangon Region.

According to the agreement, the factory will continue to pay a daily wage of 4,800 kyats, a government subsidy of 2,000 kyats, a factory subsidy of 4,000 kyats and 700 kyats, totaling 11,500 kyats. Overtime pay will be calculated at 2,100 kyats per hour.

This resolution was made following negotiations between the factory’s trade union and the employer, resulting in a mutual agreement signed by both parties, according to a statement released by STUM - Solidarity Trade Union of Myanmar. The agreement also states that employees who participated in the strike from May 29 to May 31, 2025, during the wage increase protest, will not receive any wages for that period due to work stoppage.
