It is reported that the licensed agencies that are sending more workers abroad must pay the tax specified by the ministry, and the remaining agencies will be suspended until they pay.

It is said that 12 agencies still have to pay commercial taxes and income taxes to the relevant ministry for the year 2022-2023.

Notice letters have been issued to those who are yet to pay taxes, the dispatch of workers will be suspended until they finish paying all the taxes.

In terms of taxes to be paid, the agencies have to pay based on the number of workers sent and on the service fee rates set by the country.

It is also reported that the agencies are warned not to make fraudulent submissions in paying the taxes and, if found, appropriate action will be taken.

Currently, 7 companies have closed down temporarily among the 565 overseas employment agencies and 558 agencies are still operating.
