Beaume International Garment which locates at the Phan Chat Wun U Shwe Oo Street, Industrial Zone (2), Hlaing Thar Yar Township dismissed the 32 labor right demanding workers on the ground that they don’t hit the fabric targets.

The incident is that POPULAR International Garment was previously opened in the field area where Beaume International Garment was opened. Currently, the workers of the former POPULAR factory who are working in 2 factories are demanding that their tasks and duties be separated because they do not receive labor benefits.

It is reported that workers have requested to give the legal benefits and legal leaves in addition of counting their length of service at the Popular factory.

Beaume International Garment was opened in 2020 in the same area as POPULAR International Garment, and, and the workers are assigned to work at both factories for more than 3 years, the worker said.

“It happened yesterday. We didn’t refuse to work but they said they will not work with us anymore and dismissed 32 workers from Popular factory saying that they will give all the benefits.

Currently the appointment have been made at the Labor Affairs meditation office, Hlaing Thar Yar Township to pay the compensations of the dismissed workers.

“It is not right to be dismissed without any mistakes. They said it is because we can’t give fabric outputs but they neither pay our benefits and force us to work for two factories that’s why we can’t finish the fabric outputs. If they assigned us permanently in one factory, we could finish the fabric targets. We only give 100 apparels if they asked for 200 and they only dismiss the people who can’t hit the fabric targets. The crisis is happening since the pre coup,” the worker said.

There are around 20 female workers among the dismissed workers and they have minimum 5 years to maximum 10 years of services.

“Workers don’t want to resign but they coerce that we could be sued if we don’t. We still don’t know how much the compensation would be,” the workers said.

It is reported that the workers from POPULAR International Garment factory want to know that in which factory they have to work permanently and they have discussed for it and to count the service at the previous factory for several times but the dispute wasn’t resolved and the mass dismissal happened.

The factory is owned by a Chinese national and manufacturing ITURRI, TOPTEX PRO, TOPTEXSPORT, OUTDOOR , COOLWORK BY ITUIRRI , ROYALWAY, tom tompson, Beaume and Ellenor brands warm clothes, jackets, pants and jean pants with more than 1,100 workers.
