We want to report the issue regarding of the overtime recircuitment at Rong Da Factory.

I am a factory worker. In addition of 11 hours of working hours per day, they are forcing us to work overtime until 0:00 am(all night) and 5:00 am(all light). The whole factory have to work all light over time at the night of Janu’6th.

I am saying these things as they are planning to call all light overtime again in tomorrow, Saturday, January 20th.

It have been a year we are working from 7:30 am to 7:00 pm at the factory. We have to work OT continuously for 7 hours without a break after the meal time. In all night and all light overtimes, we can we also have to work continuously for 8 hours after the dinner break.

The factory doubled the attendance bonus from 30,000 kyats to 60,000 kyats and tied the workers by saying that they would lose their attendance bonus if they did not work overtime.

The production manager also told the workers that they should be grateful to work overtime during the current political and economic crisis.

Officials from the labor office often come to inspect as many complaints have been made about violations by the factory. But nothing has changed in the factory. The labor office officials did not take any action against the factory and the working conditions did not change at all.

Knowing that the most recent brand representative was coming to inspect, the production manager called a WCC meeting and select some workers as representatives and told them that "The life of 1,800 workers are in your hands," forcing them to lie.

Workers have to lie for the factory and manager while doing their own work, eating their own food. What can be done to bring justice to the fact that Burmese doing injustice to each other without asking about the hardships of the workers to be accordance with the Chinese boss’s will?

Help me.

Myanmar Labor News has learned that the RONG DA Garment factory was established with foreign investment and is owned by a Chinese national. It is a factory that is often complained because of violations against factory workers. Workers said the the Rong Da factory locates at Min Bandu Phaya Street, War Ta Yar Industiral Zone, Shwe Pyi Thar Township, Yangon and manufacturing Logos Park, Beloved and Bekkin brands.
